Job Function

To ensure consistent sales growth and achievement of sales goals and targets in assigned territory by identifying opportunities and gaining new business while maintaining existing business for Imperial. Managing a team of well trained and motivated sales representative across the territory through regular in-field training, coaching, clear communication, and constructive feedback mechanisms.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Achievement of sales, market share and growth objectives for the East Africa region under your management through effective execution of agreed strategies and annual strategic plan.
  • Use multiple data sources to analyze regional performance dynamics, identify regional trends and opportunities and develop insight based multi-channel area business plans.
  • Through tailored coaching development plans, coach the field sales team to select and prioritize appropriate customer targets and develop robust, effective and efficient territory coverage call plans and monitor implementation through KPIs.
  • Lead all appropriate performance management discussions and actively participates in the recruitment of medical representatives
  • Develop collaborative external and internal relationships that enhance the customer journey, channel customer feedback into the organization and build the field sales teams capability to do the same through coaching
  • Promote an open, transparent and results-focused working environment and culture that delivers on sales commitments.
  • Compile and update a Sales Operating Plan for the Region after each quarterly review with detailed analysis and feedback to the leadership team.

  • Good understanding and support to the marketing team on forecasting of core products
  • Expense budget management, financial control and procedures
  • Other duties as required by the BUH

Qualifications Required:

  • A tertiary qualification in Life Sciences, Sales, Marketing or Business
  • Proficiency in Business English (written & spoken)

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in Pharmaceutical Industry is mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years Sales Management experience ( pharmaceutical sales team)
  • Prior experience in market pharmacy & hospital environment is an advantage and preferred.
  • Strong sales track record and evidence of delivering on targets consistently
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage, collaborate and influence at all organizational and management levels.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
