Job Description

Position Title: Finance Officer
Department: Finance
Reports To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance
Budget: ksh.150,000 
 
Job Purpose:
To support financial operations by maintaining accounting records, processing payments, performing reconciliations, and supporting compliance with tax and statutory regulations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries and vouchers for supplier invoices, petty cash, and bank transactions.
 
Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and internal ledgers regularly.
 
Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF).
 
Track and follow up on receivables and payables.
 
Prepare staff payroll inputs and ensure statutory deductions are correctly calculated and filed.
 
Maintain proper records of financial documents including invoices, receipts, payment approvals, and contracts.
 
Support audit process by providing required documentation.
 
Assist in fixed asset register updates and depreciation schedules.
 
Perform cash counts and assist with stock audits where necessary.
 
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
 
CPA II or higher; actively pursuing full qualification.
 
At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
 
Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP).
 
Understanding of Kenyan tax and statutory deductions.
